As we journey into 2013, we shall steadily formulate how Kenya should uniquely embrace space technology. Drawing from the approaches elucidated in “How Should Kenya Embrace Space Technology – I & II”; we shall recommend a specific approach detailing its elemental implementation from infancy to maturation as constrained by the objective to accelerate national sustainable development for all citizens.
Consequently, our first topic in 2013 will focus on extricating lessons from the experiences of the previously scrutinized developing countries in their quest to augment space technology into their national development agenda.
Another good example; Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the national space agency, was established in 1961 as a Committee and was granted the status of a Commission in 1981.

SUPARCO is mandated to conduct R&D in space science, space technology, and their peaceful applications in the country. It works towards developing indigenous capabilities in space technology and promoting space applications for socio-economic uplift of the country.
Absolutely Rosemary. Though I did not go into details, I did mention Pakistan…
“Though not discussed, Pakistan’s approach to space for national development can indeed offer Kenya valuable lessons…”
I think a peek into the hybrid approach composed of Indian, Pakistani and Brazilian approaches to space technology can offer Kenya an invaluable trove of knowledge.
